NEW VINEYARD – Franklin County deputies were investigating more burglaries Wednesday on Porter Lake, this time on the New Vineyard side.

Deputies have been working on the investigation of burglaries at more than 24 camps in the two towns for two days, Lt. Niles Yeaton said Wednesday.

In addition, an excavator has also been damaged at a building site on Beanie’s Beach Road in Strong, he said.

Evidence has been collected, he said.

The camps in Strong had a lot of criminal mischief done to them, including broken glass and ripped screens, Yeaton said Tuesday.

Deputies continued their investigation Wednesday.

Yeaton is asking if camp owners on Porter Lake believe their camps have been broken into, to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 778-2680 or 1-800-773-2680.
