RANGELEY – The recount of a close race for two selectmen’s terms is scheduled for Thursday.

It will be held at 10 a.m. June 19, at the town office, town manager administrative assistant Tiki White said Wednesday.

Three candidates sought the two, three-year selectmen’s terms on June 10.

Results of the election were Dennis Marquis, 146 votes, Robert Welch, 136 votes and Gary Shaffer, 135 votes.

Both Marquis and Welch are incumbents.

Shaffer had verbally requested a recount last week but he had to put that request in writing before the actual recount could occur, Town Clerk Laura Haley said previously.
