Big Brothers, Sisters recognized

AUBURN – The Child Health Center held its annual Big Brothers Big Sisters recognition dinner at Martindale Country Club recently to honor the many people who support mentoring programs throughout Androscoggin and Oxford counties.

More than 100 Big Brothers and Sisters, their Littles, community members and business representatives joined the Child Health Center staff for the celebration.

The evening started with matches having their photos professionally taken. Photos were followed by a dinner and entertainment by Dan Marois “Mystery For Hire” Dinner Theatre and Entertainment. Recognition of site-based mentoring youth and businesses followed.

The evening ended as Diane Blanchard, mentoring coordinator for the community-based mentoring program, recognized matches who have been in place for one year up to eight years. She also recognized Marc Bernier, Paul Labonte, Gary Richards and Nicole Labonte for their dedication to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The finale came when Marc Daniels was named Androscoggin County Big Brother of the Year, Faith Lovejoy Hauger as Androscoggin County Big Sister of the Year and Joan Parker as Oxford County Big Sister of the Year.
