LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, 415 Lisbon St., will present a workshop, “Understanding the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,” on July 29, from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

The workshop’s presenter, Kenneth An, JD, enforcement supervisor for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Boston, will provide attendees with an understanding about the laws enforced by the EEOC and a general background on the EEOC’s administrative and legal process.

Information will be presented on how to avoid discriminatory job advertisements, hiring tips for employers, employers’ duties and obligations regarding harassment and sexual harassment, speak-English-only rules at work, caregiver discrimination, prayer as a reasonable accommodation, and retaliation.
