This November voters have an opportunity to elect Tom Allen to the U.S. Senate. He has a consistent record of opposing Bush-Cheney administration policies that are harmful to this country.

In 2005, Sen. Susan Collins voted for the bill that moved $14 billion in tax breaks and incentives to the oil and gas industry. She voted against reining in oil market speculators, at people’s expense.

Recently, she voted against the renewable energy and job creation act that provided tax credits for alternative energy sources, though later changing her vote.

Collins and the Republican Party have blocked change in the Senate. They filibustered 61 times in one year. She supported her party’s actions, regardless that people think the nation is going in the wrong direction.

Allen has always been and always will be on the side of Maine people.

Tom Allen is the best choice for Maine.
