I read with amusement the letter by Tom Bulger (July 24) in support of Tom Allen in his Senate bid against Susan Collins.

While I did enjoy the wit and style of the letter, I found its message disingenuous.

I also have a horse in that race, and will say as much. I will be supporting Sen. Collins in her bid to remain in office.

What I found most humorous was the line, “I can’t find a darn thing wrong with Tom Allen.”

While I will support Collins, I can find a lot wrong with her, or for that matter, the whole gang in Washington. I just can find a lot more wrong with Allen. About the only thing I think he has done right is not show up for nearly 200 votes.

While I often disagree with Collins, there remains a massive gap between her and Allen.
