Contra dance

FARMINGTON – Contra dances will be held the second Saturday of every month beginning Sept. 13 at the Farmington Grange on Bridge Street. Beginners’ lessons will be offered at 7:30 p.m.

Live music will be provided by Frigate and the dance will be called by Cynthia Phinney. All are welcome and no partner is necessary.

Dance prices are $6 per person; $15 for a family.

Band to appear

SALEM – The Narrow Gauge Strings Band will have an evening show at the Salem Community Building at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24. The local band performs a mixture of country/bluegrass music mixed well with humor. A donation box will be at the door and refreshments will be on sale. It is being sponsored by The Salem Pine Tree Club.
