SHAFTSBURY, Vt. (AP) – Police are looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian on Vermont Route 7A in Shaftsbury early Sunday morning and fled.

The victim, who was being treated for minor injuries, said he was walking on the shoulder of the road around 1:45 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a car. He told police he rolled over the top of the vehicle as it continued without stopping.

Police say victim then crawled out of the middle of the road and was helped by another motorist.

The vehicle is described as a white Subaru station wagon with Vermont license plates.

Anyone with information about the incident, is asked to call Vermont State Police in Shaftsbury.
