The Hebron Historical Society met on Aug. 26 to hear Doug Cooper speak on Hebron native Henry H. Merrill’s 1898 trip to the Yukon with a group of men in search of gold. Researched from Merrill’s journals and other writings of the time, the talk included maps and photos. The society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Hebron Town Office. A video from the Hebron bicentennial oral history series featuring Roger Bearce will be shown. The interview with Bearce, one of the founding members of the society, was recorded in 1991. The public is invited.
