MEXICO – The following incidents were handled by the Mexico Police Department during the past week.

Arrest

• Michelle Diaz, 25, Pine Street, Rumford, on a charge of operating under the influence at 3:43 p.m. Sept. 15 on River Road. She was released from the Rumford Police Department on $1,000 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Dec. 2.

Accidents

• Vehicles driven by Heather Buotte, 23, of Lincoln Avenue, Rumford, and Keith Miller, 34, of Sturtevant Place, Livermore Falls, collided at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 17 on Main Street. Buotte and her passenger, Megan Palmer, 23, of Hillside Avenue, Rumford, and Miller’s passenger, Bethany Miller, 33, of Livermore Falls, were taken to Rumford Hospital by Med-Care Ambulance, treated and released. Buotte’s 2002 Pontiac sedan sustained $1,000 damage. Miller’s 2003 Ford sedan sustained $1,200 damage.

• Vehicles driven by Leah Marston, 38, of Dixfield, and Joseph L. Simard Jr., 73, of Somerset Street, Rumford, collided at 1:20 p.m. Sept. 13 on Main Street. Marston’s 1996 Ford sedan sustained $4,000 damage. Simard’s 2005 GMC pickup truck sustained $300 damage.

Burglary

• Someone broke into the Mexico Free Store through a basement door sometime before 3:25 p.m. Sept. 13. Toys meant for the Santa’s Helpers drive were taken. About $40 in damage was done to the door. Police have a suspect.

Vandalism

• Police discovered a cracked window at the former Wardo’s in the Mexico Plaza at 4:29 a.m. Sept. 17.

• A Roxbury Road resident reported damage to two garage windows at 2:06 p.m. Sept. 14. Damage was estimated at $100.

Theft

• A Roxbury Road resident reported at 9 a.m. Sept. 16 that $50 in returnable bottles was taken from his driveway.
