FARMINGTON – Franklin Community Health Network is bringing back its community education series, “Prescriptions for Health.” The series features local physicians who present on a variety of health and wellness topics. The free series is open to the public.

Registrations are being taken for a presentation featuring Dr. Jay Naliboff, which will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Naliboff, who is affiliated with Franklin Health Women’s Care, will discuss causes and treatments of female urinary incontinence.

“Urinary incontinence is a common and distressing problem for women of all ages. Most causes of incontinence are treatable with lifestyle changes, exercise, medication or surgery. The key to proper treatment is proper diagnosis of the type of incontinence,” said Naliboff. “My talk will cover the common forms of female urinary incontinence, assessments for this condition and the various treatment options available.”

Registration is required, as space is limited. For more information or to register, call Jodi Cordes at 779-2592 or 1-800-398-6031, ext. 2592. Light refreshments will be available, as well as child care to those who request it in advance.

A sampling of upcoming topics for the “Prescriptions for Health” series includes emergency preparedness; cardiovascular health; autism, ADD, and other developmental disorders; and diabetes management.

Those who have suggestions for future topics and/or speakers are asked to contact Cordes.
