Years of tradition continued the week of September 16 through 19 at Saint Dominic Regional High School as lockers were decorated, tee-shirts were designed, and memories were made.
Each day of the week had a theme. Students as well as faculty dressed accordingly. The week started on Tuesday, due to a teacher’s workshop, with Pajama Day, Wednesday was a true tribute to Saint Dom’s pride; Black and White Day, followed by Class Color Day, each grade was assigned a color: Seniors were black, Juniors were red, Sophomores were green, and Freshmen were yellow. Lastly, Friday was Sports Jersey Day.
Classes were cut short each day for an hour of activities (pep assemblies). Each grade fought to win the title of Most Valuable Class, a little friendly competition is always necessary. While the seniors may have dominated the Ping Pong Championship, the juniors kicked some butt at the Dance off with their incredible moves. Sophomore, Sophie Goulet, was very excited when asked about the pep activities. “Crab soccer was so much fun, seniors watch out.”
Friday’s events didn’t end when the two o-clock bell rang. That Friday night shouts and giggles filled the chilling night air as students assembled down in the dirt parking lot for the first dance of the year. On the far right of the parking lot was a roaring bonfire to warm up by, while on the far left was the bumping dance floor, this gave students the opportunity to show off their dance moves to the others. When asked about the week, Junior Nick Parshall, said, “It was stupendous.”
