Halloween has come and gone. All the kids were out buying costumes and waiting anxiously for candy. There were the traditional costumes, such as vampires and witches, but there are some new outfits that aren’t quite the same.

Recently there have been some very revealing Halloween costumes for younger girls. There were some diva outfits that were belly shirts and then very short skirts. There were a number of outfits that were showing way too much skin for little girls around the age of 10 and under.

My sister was at K-Mart looking at some of the Halloween outfits and she agrees that they were way too mature for younger girls. She saw little girl outfits showing a lot more than they should for their age – or for most teenagers, for that matter.

Maybe the reason the costumes were so revealing is because most of the famous people are wearing less clothes. Most performers are young girls’ role models. Those girls want to be just like them. So if they see their role models in inappropriate outfits, they will think it’s cool and start wearing clothes like that.

I’m sure that there are a lot of reasons. Maybe with the economy crashing, costume designers can only afford so much material.

Parents, I would suggest home made costumes. They are cheaper and you have a sense of accomplishment afterwards. Hope you had fun trick or treating!
