AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will offer a free workshop for people interested in facilitating training programs through the college’s Corporate and Community Services Department. The workshop, “How to be a Trainer for Central Maine Community College,” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Participants will learn how to organize their thoughts and materials to create a course plan, how to create an interactive atmosphere in the classroom and how to deliver information in a fun and informative manner. Participants will also learn how to submit their course ideas for consideration by the college.

The workshop will be facilitated by Marylin Newell. Newell is an executive coach, seminar leader and registered counselor and the founder of Life Matters in Mechanic Falls.

She started as an adjunct faculty member in 1988 with what is now Central Maine Community College and with the former Mid-State College. She was the academic dean and campus director at Mid-State College. She has served as president at Andover College in Portland and McIntosh College in Dover, N.H.
