Between Jan. 26 at 6 a.m. and Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to 83 complaints.

Arrests/Summonses

On Jan. 26 at 10:54 a.m., Keith Matthews, 46, of Rumford was arrested by Ptl. Miller after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant for charges of assault and operating under the influence. Matthews posted $350 cash bail and was released.

On Jan. 26 at 4:53 p.m., Leslie Woods, 54, of Rumford was summonsed by Ptl. Miller and charged with criminal mischief after damage was done to a telephone at a location on Congress Street.

On Jan. 30 at 10:15 p.m., Gerald Fontaine, 55, of Rumford was arrested by Ptl. Cramer and charged with operating under the influence. Fontaine posted $1,000 unsecured bail and was released.

On Feb. 1 at 12:22 p.m., Ashley Jackson, 21, of Rumford was arrested by Cpl. Maifeld and charged with domestic violence assault. Jackson posted $1,000 unsecured bail and was released.

Crash

On Jan. 28 at 10:15 a.m., a 2000 Dodge pickup operated by James Young, 62, of Peru was traveling west on US Route 2 and struck the back of a 2001 Kentworth tractor trailer, which was turning right into Sam’s and Judy’s Variety, owned by Daniel Dolloff, 51, of Mexico. Approximately $6,000 in damage to the front end of the Young vehicle. The tractor trailer received no reportable damage.

Criminal Mischief

On Feb. 1 at 7:48 a.m., Falmouth Street business reporting damage to the front window. Estimated damage listed at approximately $300. Incident under investigation.

Theft

On Jan. 29 at 1 p.m., Rumford business reporting a bad check theft of $500. Owner issued 5-day notice and will take care of the issue in lieu of being summonsed for theft.

Ashley Amburg, 20, formerly of Rumford is wanted on twp Rumford District Court warrants for unpaid fines for allowing minors to possess or consume alcohol.
