Common Ties elects new board

LEWISTON – Common Ties Mental Health recently elected its board officers and directors for 2009.

Kenneth Albert III was elected president; David White, vice president; Jennifer Rancourt, secretary; and Jeff Leonardo, treasurer.

Elected as directors were Katy Sperl, Jeff Leonardo and Gay De Hart.

The agency provides community support services to people who have a serious mental health illness. Common Ties works with families, hospitals, consumers and service providers to create and support an individual throughout the recovery process. The agency serves citizens in Androscoggin County.

The board promotes employment opportunities for clients of the agency and they have teamed with Tri County Mental Health Services and Maine Medical Center to provide an employment specialist.

“Common Ties Mental Health is a vibrant and dynamic organization. The road of recovery can be rough. We will be there for the person who does not have a home, who may be struggling with their illness, who wishes to reunite with their family, who wish to return to work, who wants to be sober and remain sober,” said Albert.

The agency is a partner with the United Way of Androscoggin County and is a member of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce.
