LARGO, Fla. – Fran Scott, 66, of Durham, and Largo, Fla., died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 7, at a Florida hospital surrounded by family.

She was bon on Feb. 16, 1942, in Chesterville, a daughter of Leo and Eleanor (Wheeler) Campbell.

She was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1960, and the University of Maine at Farmington, Class of 1966.

She was married to her best friend, Norman Scott, of 29 years.

She served as a proud teacher in the Durham Elementary School system for more than 20 years. She especially loved science, drama, Maine studies, and the D.A.R.E. program.

She was an involved family woman and especially enjoyed following the school activities and sporting events of her children and grandchildren.

She took great pride in her green thumb, cooking, and days filled with laughter and fun with family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Reaves of Buxton and Michelle Lauture of Portland; a son, Stephen Scott of Lisbon Falls; two sisters, Marie Lucarelli of Jay and Patricia Volkernick of Largo, Fla.; one brother, Paul Campbell of Winslow; many nieces and nephews; four granddaughters; and four grandsons.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Nicholas; sister, Sharon Beatham; and father, Leo Campbell.
