The following recall has been announced because the product could be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems:

Eillien’s Candies Inc. is expanding its earlier recall of peanut products to include nut topping. No illness has been reported. The recalled product was sold in drug and grocery stores in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. Details: by phone at 920-336-7549.

This expanded recall includes the following product:

• 5-ounce nut topping (chopped peanuts); UPC 34952-12971; sell-by date prior to 2/13/10.
