Center auction
LIVERMORE FALLS – A Cabin Fever Auction will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Nazarene Family Life Center, Baldwin Street. Cost is $10 for 50 tickets with more than 200 prizes to win. There are $1 tickets for big items. Many area businesses have donated gift cards.

Bean supper
LIVERMORE FALLS – A public homemade bean supper with all the fixings will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Nazarene Family Life Center, Baldwin Street. It is being sponsored by the youth.
There is a $5 suggested donation and take-out will be available. Call 897-2301 for more information.
DAR speaker
WILTON – Colonial Daughters Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Taffy Davis from the Farmington Historical Society will speak about the North Church restoration project. Guests are invited.
Phillips CC
PHILLIPS – The Phillips Area Chamber of Commerce is in the process of gathering information for the second publication of an area directory. The directory carries listings of area businesses and supporters.
More than 70 businesses placed ads in the first directory in 2007.
Those interested in being in the directory should contact the chamber at 639-2817 or stop by 5k Pizza on Main Street to see Lori for a form. The ad will be for a two-year period.
Wednesday events
PHILLIPS – There will be an Ash Wednesday lunch and service at noon Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the community room at Shadagee Apartments. A light lunch will be provided and all are welcome. The Rev. Sue Kaplan-Burgess of the Phillips Shared Ministry will conduct the service.
Women to meet
PHILLIPS – The Phillips Shared Ministry women will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Community House. The women will plan the March luncheon outreach for the Phillips Senior Citizens. Anyone who would like to be part of the group is welcome to attend and join in on the planning.
Chinese auction
KINGFIELD – A Chinese auction will be held Sunday, March 15, at Webster Hall, School Street.
Doors will open at noon for ticket sales and viewing. Drawing of tickets will start at 1 p.m. They are $1 for a strip of 10 or $5 for six strips. Admission and refreshments will be free. Items will be new or lightly used and there will be gift certificates.
The event is being sponsored by Friends and Family Ties, a Relay For Life team, and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Club workshop
LIVERMORE FALLS – The GFWC/Livermore Falls Women’s Club met recently at the home of Co-President Lucille Lavoie. A DVD depicting the history of GFWC was played to show new members while coffee and refreshments were served.
Members filled handmade cloth bags made at a previous workshop. The bags contain toiletries, books, puzzle books and fruit cups, donated by members. The bags, made to fit over tissue boxes, will be distributed along with tissues to shut-ins and elderly in the area.
It is one of the many projects the club works on every year. Anyone in the area wanting more information about activities should call co-president Gail Slade at 897-2158 or co-president Lucille Lavoie at 897-5106.
