LEWISTON – A Greene man remained in critical condition Sunday night at Central Maine Medical Center following an ATV accident early Saturday morning in Leeds.

Dana Cloutier, 23, of Greene, was riding his ATV from Greene to Leeds on Route 202 at 1 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of the vehicle, which flipped over, throwing him from it.

Deputy Tim Kachnovich with the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said Cloutier was taken to CMMC by LifeFlight helicopter due to the extent of his injuries. He said he thought he was heading toward Leeds from his home in Greene because he was only about 100 yards over the town line.

Kachnovich said alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
