LIVERMORE – Residents of Livermore and Livermore Falls with children who will be age 5 on or before Oct. 15 are asked to set an appointment to register their children to start school in the fall. If a child is attending the kindergarten program for 4-year-olds, parents do not have to attend registration.

Children who will be 4 on or before Oct. 15 will be eligible to attend the district’s kindergarten for 4-year-olds program in the fall.

Selection of participants will occur after the initial screening process has been completed. Participants need to meet the criteria of the program to qualify, including eligibility for Head Start as well as student scores on assessments given during the registration.

An appointment for either program may be set by calling Livermore Elementary School secretaries at 897-3355 or stopping by the school office any time prior to Wednesday, April 1. A registration packet is available for those wishing to complete part of the process prior to registration day.

Registration date is Friday, April 3. The process includes three parts: gathering student identification information, a brief interaction between the child and a kindergarten teacher and a review of the child’s medical history.

The process takes 15 to 20 minutes. Parents are asked to bring their child’s official birth certificate, social security card and immunization record.
