FARMINGTON – A Farmington man remained in jail Monday evening on charges of possessing possessing OxyContin and growing marijuana, officials said.

Jonathan Galouch, 25, was arrested Friday night on charges of aggravated trafficking of illegal drugs after arriving at his home at 168 Maple Ave., Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Supervisor Gerry Baril said.

Police found Galouch with a bottle of 127 tablets of OxyContin in his pocket, handwritten drug ledgers containing names of people he was allegedly selling to, and $2,000, Baril said.

While police were searching his home, Galouch’s cell phone kept ringing with text messages seeking “pharms,” a street term for pharmaceutical drugs, he said.

Agents also found 48 small marijuana plants growing under fluorescent lights.

Following other recent drug arrests around Franklin County, police became aware that Galouch appeared to be selling prescription narcotics from that residence and obtained a search warrant.

The street value of the OxyContin was estimated at $10,100, Baril said, making the charge aggravated trafficking because it was more than $8,000 worth.

The marijuana plants were small but if grown to maturity had the potential value of $36,000. Galouch faces a misdemeanor charge of cultivating marijuana.

Galouch is being held at Franklin County Detention Center on $10,000 bail after appearing in court in Lewiston on Monday afternoon because there was no judge in Farmington.
