RANGELEY – A Rangeley man was charged with reckless conduct after he allegedly fired two rounds from a shotgun Saturday night behind the movie theater.

George Gray, 37, of Rangeley received a summons for misdemeanor reckless conduct and was charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, said police Chief Dennis Leahy on Monday.

Two juveniles reported hearing gunshots around 8:55 p.m. coming from behind the theater on Main Street. When officer Brian Hughes arrived he went around the back of the theater and approached a man behind it.

Hughes then went to the front of the theater where movie patrons outside the theater also told him they heard pellets hitting the tops of cars. Hughes went back down an alley and found Gray, who was then in possession of a shotgun.

Part of Gray’s property on Pond Street borders the back of the theater and there were minors there drinking, Leahy said.

In a separate incident, Hughes summoned Susan Dzinski, 52, of Rangeley on a charge of driving under the influence about 1:20 a.m. Sunday after she saw Hughes’ police cruiser and backed her car up, hitting a wall of Sarge’s Pub and Grub.

Hughes saw her coming out the driveway of the pub and then she attempted to back into the lot, Leahy said. Minor damage was done to the pub.

Dzinski received a summons and was taken to a friend’s house, he said.
