LEWISTON – A man who was stabbed and critically injured at his home last week is improving at a local hospital, police said Wednesday.

Alfred Palmer, 54, was stabbed in the chest last Friday inside at his Walnut Street apartment, police said. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where he has remained since.

Jessica Palmer, 29, was arrested and charged with elevated aggravated assault in connection with her husband’s stabbing. She has since been released from jail and is scheduled to appear in court on May 28.
