Secondhand store opens in Auburn
AUBURN – Classy Elegance and Secondhand Treasures, 32 Riverside Drive had a successful opening in April.
The nonprofit shop began as a yard sale, organized yearly by the Apostolic Holiness Church. Funds from the yard sale were used to buy Christmas gifts for children, food baskets for the elderly, to support Women at the Well and to support the church in its endeavor to build or buy a building. Items for the yard sale were donated.
The shop offers the same yard sale prices, as well as free items that they cannot sell. Items include dishes, clothes, futon, televisions, monitors and stoves. They also consign items for customers.
The store is managed by Lyn Hodgdon and Jackie Pratt, Nancy Harlow, Lesa Furbush, Terry Hebert and Cindy Chase donate time. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
Donations are accepted unless the item is broken, useless or stained beyond cleaning. For more information or to donate to the shop, call 998-5525.
