AUCKLAND, New Zealand — Shalini Rego and Jesse McDaniel were united in marriage Jan. 29, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Auckland, New Zealand, with Msgr. Bernard Kiely officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Edith and Peter Rego of New Lynn, Auckland. The bridegroom is the son of Rachel and Albert McDaniel of Farmington.
The bride was attended by her longtime friend and now sister-in-law, Jennifer D’souza of Bangalore, India. Best man was Philip Jackson of Richmond, formerly of Farmington.
The bride received an engineering degree in 2002 from the Bangalore Institute of Technology in Bangalore, India, as well as a graduate diploma in computer science from the University of Auckland. She is employed as a software engineer with Datacom in Auckland.
The bridegroom attended Mt. Blue High School, during which time he spent two years as an exchange student in Germany. He is a 1996 math and computer science graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington. He is employed as a software engineer with StayinFront in Ponsonby, Auckland.
The couple resides at their home in the New Lynn suburb of Auckland.
