MEXICO – A magic show and turkey dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, on River Road, sponsored by King Hiram 57 Masonic Lodge. Cost is $15 per person. For reservations, call David Saphier at 364-3624.

Memorial events

DIXFIELD – Swasey-Torrey Post 100, American Legion, will observe Memorial Day by meeting at the post at 8 a.m. Monday, May 25, and driving to Riverside Cemetery for services at 8:30 a.m.

The members will move to Greenwood Cemetery at the monument on Weld Street for 9 a.m. services, along with the Dirigo High School band. Then they will go to the bridge over the Androscoggin River for memorial services with Peru Post 199 at 9:30 a.m.

Craft day

GARDINER – The Center for Maine Craft will host a Woodturning School Studio Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23 (rain date, Monday May 25).

Objects by the Woodturning School’s artists and faculty will be featured in the Center for Maine Craft’s exhibition gallery space through May 31.

The Studio Day will be an opportunity to learn how the artists create the turned wood cups, bowls, vases, candlesticks and pepper mills. The center is located in the West Gardiner Travel Plaza. For more information, call 588-0021 or visit www.mainecrafts.org.
