First Friday circuit kicks off with varied artworks
NORWAY – Oil paintings, watercolors, illustrations, metal sculpture and more will be featured in the first Western Maine Art Group members show and sale of the 2009 season. The exhibit officially opens at Matolcsy Arts Center, 480 Main Street, with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, as part of the First Friday gallery hop, which includes several other exhibit locations in the area.
A wide range of styles from abstract to realism in two- and three-dimensional formats will be represented in works by these WMAG members: Emmy Andersson, Joan Bellucci, Cynthia Burmeister, Ellen O’Neil, Duncan Slade, Barbara Traficonte, Sue West, Brenda Ellis Sauro, Michael Sauro, Joanna Reese, Victoria Denninger and Judy Mayberry.
Other venues on the First Friday circuit are the Commons Art Collective, Frost Farm Gallery, Norway Memorial Library, Painted Mermaid, My Studio, Café Nomad and McLaughlin Garden in Paris.
