AVON — Announcement is made of the engagement of Denise Hanna, daughter of Carmel Hanna of Baltimore, Md., and Martin Hanna, to Jeremiah J. Cottle, son of Glennice E. Cottle and the late John S. Cottle of Avon.
The Rev. William Franken will celebrate a Catholic wedding Mass in Baltimore, Md., at the Loyola College Alumni Memorial Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 19. A reception will follow at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the Inner Harbor. The couple will honeymoon in Puerto Morales, (Quintana Roo) Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula’s Riviera Maya.
Ms. Hanna, originally from Dublin, Ireland, is a 1999 graduate of Mercy High School in Baltimore. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology, audiology and speech-language pathology in 2003 from Towson University in Maryland, and her master’s degree in the same discipline in 2005 from Loyola College. She is currently a licensed speech-language pathologist in the Baltimore City Public Schools.
Mr. Cottle was born in Waterville and grew up in Avon, graduating from Mt. Abram Regional High School in 1996. In 2000 he received a bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, in history and philosophy from St. Joseph’s College, a juris doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut in 2003 and a master of laws in intellectual property, commerce and technology in 2004 from Franklin Pierce Law Center in New Hampshire. He is an admitted attorney in Maine, Connecticut and the District of Columbia, and is currently employed in Washington, D.C., by the United Stated Department of Homeland Security.
The couple will reside in Columbia, Md.
