Dear Sun Spots: I’m not sure if this will help Joan, who is looking for butter paper, but I buy my farm butter at Crystal Spring Farm, 1413 Main St., Oxford. Roger and Gail Smedburg own it and the phone is 743-6723.
Also, I have bought it at Sid and Nancy Record’s farm, 486 E. Oxford Rd., South Paris, 743-2905.
There’s also a farm in Greenwood called Inch-by-Inch, but I couldn’t locate the number. Good luck and I hope this helps. — Nancy, South Paris.
Dear Sun Spots: I need help! I am in need of a canner with a wire rack,
this is the old way of canning. The wire in mine is all rusted and I
don’t trust it, as they have to hold six or seven jars I think, maybe
less. If someone knows where I can buy one I would be pleased. Call
786-7665. — Frances, No Town.
Dear Sun Spots: Danville Junction Grange will be holding its annual
indoor yard sale on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There
will be a white elephant table and a baked goods table. Lunch will be
served. Tables are available for rent at $15 each. Please reserve them
by calling Maynard Chapman at 998-5331. Thank you so much for the
excellent service you offer to the community. G. Ryer, Danville.
Dear Sun Spots: We buy “Maine Country Butter” at Blackie’s Fresh Produce on Minot
Avenue in Auburn. The person inquiring about where to find the paper
to wrap butter in might contact the person making the butter. The
address on the package is: Pleasant Acres, 413 Leeds Road, Livermore
Falls, ME 04254. There isn’t a telephone number on the package. The
butter is fresh and tastes great. — CB,
Dixfield.
