GOP to meet

Craft project

WOODSTOCK — The Whitman Memorial Library will offer a variety of summer programs free. A nature craft project, making seashell wind chimes or necklaces, will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15. Those who have shells are asked to bring them. Society meeting

PARIS — The annual meeting of the Paris Hill Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 16. The society’s new president, Janet Brogan, will be introduced.

Following the meeting, there will be a short program with a wedding theme. The society has been given a short DVD with footage from a 1928 Paris Hill wedding, which will be shown. Several antique wedding dresses and photos will be on display. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own wedding memorabilia to share.

Talk on hobos

PARIS — The Paris Cape Historical Society will feature Hugh “Cubby” Swan at its
7 p.m. meeting Thursday, July 16, at its museum and meeting place, 77
High St., South Paris. Swan will speak on the adventures of a
hobo from the early 1900s and will show artifacts. The
public is invited. A brief business meeting will
precede the program, and refreshments will be served afterward.

The society will have a booth at Founder’s Day on
Paris Hill on Saturday, July 18. Books,postcards, paper
weights and refrigerator magnets will be available.

Weekly storytime

WATERFORD — Young children are invited to a weekly storytime at 10:30 a.m. Fridays, July 17 to Aug. 7, at the Waterford Library, Routes 35 and 37, Waterford Flats.
