FARMINGTON — Registration is under way for the August “Prescriptions for Health” presentation, “Arthritis, Bursitis and Tendonitis,” featuring Dr. Carmen Crofoot. The presentation is part of Franklin Memorial Hospital’s monthly community health information series that is free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, Aug. 19, Crofoot will discuss common orthopaedic complaints related to arthritis, bursitis and tendonitis of upper and lower extremity joints and the diagnoses and treatment options. The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Chisholm Room and will include light refreshments. There will be time for questions and answers.

Crofoot said, “Arthritis, bursitis and tendonitis are common problems diagnosed through a careful evaluation of symptoms and a physical examination. At this presentation we will discuss each and the treatment options to improve one’s quality of life such as medications, exercise and therapy and surgery.”

Before joining Franklin Health Orthopaedics in 2007, Crofoot took part in a year-long fellowship in adult joint reconstruction. Crofoot received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and later completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center, also in Philadelphia.

Registration is required, as space is limited. For more information or to register, call Jodi Cordes at 779-2592 or 1-800-398-6031, ext. 2592.
