AUBURN – NAPA Auto Parts moved into a tie for first place in the Auburn Rec Players League West Division with a crushing 12-1 victory over the Assassins at Pettingill Park. NAPA scored 11 runs in the first four innings, while holding the Assassins scoreless into the seventh to knock the Assassins from the mountaintop and move into a deadlock with Team Argo.
Kasey Clark led the way going 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and four RBIs. Clay Phillips joined the fun by going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Anthony Clark, Josh Cobb, Chris Therriault and Terry Goguen all went 1-for-3 to assist in the onslaught. NAPA’s patient batters took advantage of 12 walks issued by the Assassins pitching.
NAPA plays its final game of the regular season Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Lakeview Field.
