NEW SHARON — More golfers are needed for LEAP’s third annual golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Sandy River Golf Course.

Prior to the 1 p.m. tee-off, a silent auction, including a variety of items, takes place. Not only golf items go on the block but ski passes, Portland Sea Dog tickets, gift certificates and autographed photos from golfers Greg Norman and John Daly, and actors John Cleese and Elizabeth Taylor. Following the tournament, a barbecue will be held for all golfers who will also receive a gift bag.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. Reservations are requested.

Fees are $30 per golfer or $100 for a team of four. All proceeds from the tournament will be split between three LEAP non-Medicare funded programs, including a Ryan Franchetti recreation fund for LEAP clients, Cordes-Taylor Scholarships for LEAP’s staff and the DREAM respite program for local community members.

LEAP, Life Enrichment Advancing People, is a nonprofit agency that provides housing for developmentally disabled people in Western Maine. For more info check the Web at http://leapcommunity.org/
