RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 21 with a speaker on physical therapy. The board will meet at 10:30 a.m. followed by the membership meeting at noon. Those who do not wish to join the potluck lunch may arrive at 12:30 p.m.

Western Maine Transportation will have shopping trips to Portland on the second Thursday of the month. The cost is $5. However, if there are not 20 people signed up, the trip will be cancelled.

The Christmas Fair will be held on Nov. 14. Knit goods, crocheted goods, crafts, food for the food table and donations of canned, boxed or dried goods for the food basket raffles are needed. There will be a Chinese auction, raffles, a guessing game and coffee and muffins will be available for sale.

The last trip for the winter to Hollywood Slots will be on Nov. 19. The cost is $25.

The Christmas party will be held on Dec. 16 at the American Legion hall on Congress Street, with dinner, entertainment and door prizes.

The group is also hoping to put together a recipe book and is asking members to donate a favorite recipe. Members were also reminded that those who are not on Maine Care who need rides to doctor appointments, may call Community Concepts at 364-3685 and ask for Elder Rides.

Thirty people are needed for a trip to a play in Lewiston. The cost is $35 and includes bus fare and ticket to the show. 

A photographer will be available to take pictures at the center, at no cost. Everyone will receive a five by seven picture. If interested, call 364-4700.
