Chinese auction

LOCKE MILLS — A Chinese auction will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17,
at
the American Legion Hall, Gore Road. Ticket will be sold from 5 to 6:30
p.m. and the drawings will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be more than
300 items
and gift certificates. Food will be available. For more information,

benefit the Telstar Alumni Association. 

Laughter workshop

RUMFORD — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing in Lewiston is offering a
free workshop aimed at tickling the funny bone while reducing stress.
“Laughter is Good Medicine” will take place from
1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Rumford Hospital in room 357. 

Certified Laughter Leader, Carol Emery, will lead the program and
inform how laughter can lower blood pressure, relieve stress, connect
with others and improve moods. Emery works with River Valley
Healthy Communities Coalition and is a certified Laughter Leader,
trained by the World Laughter Tour.

Tournament

RUMFORD — There will be a Texas Hold Em tournament at the Sons of
Italy Hall on Saturday, Oct. 17. Doors will be open at 8:30 a.m. There are 100 seats are
