LEWISTON — Two men remained hospitalized Tuesday after being stabbed during a fight late Saturday night.
Michael Gallo, 23, and James Cote, 35, both of Shawmut Street, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center. No information was available Tuesday on Gallo, who was stabbed several times in the back, according to a nursing supervisor. Cote, who was stabbed in the chest and suffered a punctured lung, was listed in good condition.
Police arrested two men and a juvenile, charging each with elevated aggravated assault, police said.
Sidney Lord, 19, of 2 Towle St. and Clayton Chapman, 20, of 11 Horton St. were both at Androscoggin County Jail on Tuesday. Lord was being held on an earlier charge of violation of condition of release. Each man’s cash bail was set at $10,060, a jail supervisor said.
Police said the fight at the corner of Shawmut and Walnut streets involved a knife and a two-by-four about 2½ feet long. The people involved knew each other, police said.
