Toys for Tots
SABATTUS — The Town of Sabattus has set up a Toys for Tots drop off box in the Town Office.
Toys will be collected through mid-December.
Last year, the Sabattus Town Office collected three boxes of new and unwrapped toys. The U.S. Marines collected the three boxes and in turn, supplied the town with seven boxes of toys which provided gifts to 14 families. On Election Day, voters are welcome to donate a new and unwrapped toy or a nonperishable food to help support the local food bank, Loaves and Fishes.
Ticket auction
AUBURN — A ticket auction will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25, at
Edward Little High School to benefit the J.F.M. Life Center and
Navigator programs. The doors will open at 2 p.m. with the drawings to begin
at 4 p.m.
The group has more than 300 items for auction, including
gift cards and tickets to local restuarants and businesses, a motorcycle helmet, and more. There will be $2.50, $5,
$10 and $20 envelopes, a dollar table and a 50/50 raffle.
American chop
suey, chili, dessert and beverages will be available for purchase

Beginner yoga
TURNER — “Beginner Yoga for Optimal Health” will be
presented by MSAD 52 Adult and Community Education. The anticipated
start date for the class, to be held in Greene, from
4 to 5:15 p.m., is Monday, Nov. 2. The session is an introduction to the practice of yoga postures, health exercise and enhanced
relaxation techniques.
It is open to new practitioners and those who
want to fine-tune their basic skills. Participants will increase strength,
flexibility and improve posture. Call the Adult Education

Religious film
LEWISTON — In preparation for the upcoming visit of Fr. Antoine
Thomas to Prince of Peace Parish the weekend of Nov. 6 to 8, a short
film of his work entitled “Children’s Adoration in the Third
Millennium” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the
Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.
Thomas is a member
of the Congregation of St. John, one of the fastest growing religious
orders in the Catholic Church. Founded in 1975, the order now numbers
more than 1,000 Brothers and Sisters in more than 20 countries. His
adoration program “Children of Hope” is active in parishes around the
world. He has filmed several series for EWTN and has been a guest
speaker at Eucharistic Congresses.

Distribution day
AUBURN — Auburn AC Serve, a part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will have its Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church at the Whitney Street parking lot entrance. Registrations for November will also be taken. Holiday baskets may be ordered in both November and December. New participants are welcome. Holiday fair
AUBURN — A holiday fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday,Oct. 24, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home of Maine, 85 Caron Lane. Items for sale will include crafts, baked goods and knitted items. For more information, call Diane Treacy at 786-4616.
