RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital will offer a free prostate screening clinic from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7.

Dr. Albert Aniel, an internist who has been at Rumford Hospital for nearly 30 years, will perform the prostate exams. In addition to the physical exam, each participant will have a urine test, blood pressure check and a prostate screening lab test.

The clinic targets men over 50, especially those who do not have a primary care provider. Men over 40 who experience difficult urination or who have a family history of prostate cancer should also sign up for the screening.

The prostate screening will be held in the Rumford Hospital Specialty Clinics. Men who make an appointment will be preregistered by phone so they can proceed directly to the Specialty Clinics on that day.

The screening is by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling the prostate appointment line at 369-1270 during regular business hours on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 19 and 20, only.
