MEXICO — The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.
Accidents
A car and school bus collision on Dec. 15 resulted in no injuries and minimal damage. Theresa H. Perkins, 36, of York Street, Rumford, apparently struck a patch of snow at 7:25 a.m. on Swett Avenue, causing her 2004 Jeep SUV to skid into the left side of a 2003 Freightliner school bus driven by Sandra Hammond, 64, Wyman Hill Road. The bus sustained $100 damage. Perkins’ vehicle sustained $200 damage.
Vehicles driven by Robert R. Goodspeed, 23, of Carmel, and Barbara C. Burns, 74, of South Rumford Road, Rumford, collided at 1:45 p.m., Dec. 16, on Main Street. Goodspeed’s 2005 Chevrolet sustained $4,000 damage. Burns’ 2009 Dodge van sustained $5,000 damage.
Vehicles driven by Monique G. Hill, 21, Backkingdom Road, Mexico, and Kelley J. Arsenault, 42, Wyman Hill Road, Rumford, collided at 3:30 p.m., Dec. 17 on the Backkingdom Road. Hill’s 2000 Chevrolet sedan sustained $2,500 damage. Arsenault’s 1998 Dodge sedan sustained $6,000 damage.
Theft
The theft of more than $500 from a purse owned by a woman who was shopping at Wal-Mart was reported at 10:10 a.m., Dec. 19. Police have leads and expect to make an arrest later this week.
Burglar
A Dix Avenue resident reported at 11:25 a.m., Dec. 19, that someone entered his apartment sometime between the night before and that morning and took clothing, videos, tapes and prescriptions medicines valued at more than $400. Police have suspects.
Vandalism
A Roxbury Road resident reported at 9:29 p.m., Dec. 20, that someone slashed three of the tires on his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 9:29 p.m., causing about $300 damage. Police have suspects.
