Gilbert

FREEPORT — The wedding of Angela L. Cyr and Jason R. Gilbert was held at 4 p.m. on June 27 at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. Cheryl Monet, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Gilbert is the daughter of Dr. Michael and Linda Cyr of Auburn. Mr. Gilbert is the son of Robert and Marcia Gilbert of Hermon.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory satin halter gown with beaded lace, champagne sash and chapel train, with simple beaded veil. She carried a bouquet of purple Calla lilies, purple lisianthus, lavender roses, purple stock and lemon leaf. The stem of the bouquet was tied with lace from the wedding gown of the bride’s late grandmother.

Kari Grondin, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Caldwell and Beth Nielson, friends of the bride.

Dr. Christopher Cyr, brother of the bride, performed the duties of best man. Ushers were Benton Schattenberg, friend of the bridal couple, and Eric Gilbert, brother of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Harraseeket Inn, after which the couple traveled to Bar Harbor. They are residing in Auburn.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She teaches English at the 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade level at St. Michael’s School in Augusta.

The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of Hermon High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in microbiology. He is an associate at Staples in Lewiston.
