LEWISTON — The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation has announced its scholarship recipients for 2009-2010.

Stephanie Belanger, a graduate of Lewiston High School, is attending Utica College. She is the daughter of Norm and Rachel Belanger of Lewiston.

Benjamin McDonough, a graduate of Lewiston High School, is attending the University of Maine at Orono. He is the son of Robert and Linda McDonough of Lewiston.

Casey Parker, a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, is attending the University of Maine at Orono. He is the son of Robert and Kim Parker of Lewiston.

Richard Paradis, a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, is attending the University of Maine at Orono. He is the son of Richard and Donna Paradis of Lewiston.

Merton Foss, a graduate of Edward Little High School, is attending Central Maine Community College. He is the son of Merton and Diana Foss of Auburn.

Karen Leary, a graduate of Edward Little High School, is attending The College of William and Mary. She is the daughter of Justin and Pamela Leary of Auburn.

Corey Therriault, a graduate of Edward Little High School, is attending the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is the son of Michael and Ann Therriault of Auburn.

The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation was established to honor Tom Lahey, an outstanding Lewiston athlete and successful businessman who died Oct. 3, 1987, at the age of 43.

The purpose of the foundation is to assist local youth in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic and cultural activities.

Since its inception the foundation has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships.

Fundraisers scheduled for 2010 include a bowling tournament on Jan. 30 and a golf tournament scheduled for July.
