Li Nyberg of Lewiston and her 2-year-old daughter, Delaney, play with rubber ducks during a Duck Dive at the YWCA in Lewiston on Sunday. Hundreds of ducks were tossed into the pool during family open swim to help raise money for swim lesson scholarships. Requests for scholarships have increased fivefold over the past year, said Kayt DeMerchant, director of marketing for the YWCA. “We want to make swim lessons available to as many kids as possible,” said DeMerchant. Duck Dives are just one of four events happening during the “Splash for Cash” fundraiser. The next duck dives are March 14 and 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $25 per family.
