Mt. Blue High School skier Emily Ramsey skated powerfully across the finish line to bring second-place honors to the “Maine 1” team in the anchor leg of the mixed (co-ed) relay race that served as the grand finale to the Eastern J2 Championships in Jackson, N.H. Ramsey’s team-mates Silas Eastman of Fryeburg, Molly Siegel of Gould Academy and Tom Rabon of Leavitt skied strong races to place the team in a position to make the podium. “Maine 1” finished 20 seconds behind the winning team from New Hampshire and was another 19 seconds ahead of the third-place team from Massachusetts. A total of more than 200 racers competed in the three-day TD Bank Eastern J2 Championships, including invited non-New England guest teams from Idaho, Washington, and Quebec.
