Texas hold ’em

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host a Texas hold ’em tournament Friday, Aug. 27, in the Beano Building at the Farmington Fairgrounds.

The tournament will begin at 6 p.m. There will be a cash bar and Mike’s Snack Shack will be open. One hundred tickets will be sold. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased at the Chamber office or by calling 778-4215 or 491-5074.

Outdoor concert

FARMINGTON — A free “Singspiration” outdoor concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 380 New Vineyard Road. All are welcome to attend.

The concert will feature the local Christian artists Heavenly Harmony Quartet, David Baker, George Chizmus, Mike Doody, Toby Doak, Cheryl Farley and others, performing original compositions and traditional hymns.

Stroke screening

FARMINGTON — Residents living in and around the West Farmington community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. The Farmington Elks Lodge 2430 will host Life Line Screening on Wednesday, Sept. 15. The Lodge is located at 120 School St., West Farmington. Appointments will begin at 11 a.m.
