Amy Reserve Staff Sgt. David P. Nelson is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.
The soldiers will return to Fort Dix, N.J. for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.
The staff sergeant served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Iraq Theater of Operations.
Nelson, a motor transport operator, is a member of the 619th Transportation Company, Auburn. He has served in the military for 14 years.
He is the son of Donald A. and Mary A. Nelson of Farmington. In 1995, Nelson graduated from Mt. Blue High School.
