TURNER — The SAD 52 Board of Directors has scheduled the following calendar of events regarding the 2011-12 budget and encourages community members to participate:

Feb. 3: Workshop at Greene Central School at 6 p.m.

Feb. 16: Workshop at Leeds Central School at 6 p.m.

March 3: Workshop at Tripp Middle School at 6 p.m.

March 16: Workshop at Greene Central School at 6 p.m.

March 31: If needed, additional budget workshop

April 7: Budget approval by the School Board at Leeds Central School at 6 p.m.

May 3: District budget meeting at Leavitt Area High School auditorium at 6 p.m.

May 10: Budget validation referendum at local polling places

All budget workshops are public. The board and Superintendent Darlene Burdin are encouraging community members to attend the workshops and participate in the budget process.

“When facing the challenging financial times ahead, community input at the workshops will provide the board with valuable guidance during the decision-making process,” Burdin said in a statement.
