The Fitch Company was established in 1986 as an engineering consulting firm specializing in electrical, instrument and process control systems for pulp & paper and related manufacturing industries. The company was incorporated in 1992 and Mark Bolduc is now president and owner. John Fitch founded and started the company in 1986. In the year 2000 Mark Bolduc became part owner (Vice President) and began the transition to becoming full owner. On January 2nd, 2004 Mark became sole owner of The Fitch Company and John Fitch retired.
The Fitch Company headquarters are located in Bangor, Maine with branch offices in Gray, Maine and Rumford, Maine. The company has average annual sales of over $3.3 million performing electrical, instrument, and process control systems engineering for varied process industries
The Fitch Company has diversified into other industries beyond Pulp and Paper since it’s inception in the 80’s. We have three offices in Maine serving the United States with foreign projects completed as far away as Brazil. We have 23 full time staff members. Of the twenty three staff members, eleven are engineers (9 EE (Electrical Engineers), 1 CheE (Chemical Engineer), 1 PE (Power engineer from Maritime Academy), seven are electrical technicians / designers and the remainder are support personnel. Five of our engineers are registered professional engineers. Several engineers are also registered with NCEES thus enabling us to obtain licenses in other states in an expedited time frame. The Fitch Company has a strong presence in the pulp and paper, power and chemical industries. The Fitch Company has extensive experience developing and installing electrical systems, DCS/PLC and process control systems for varied processes. This has enabled us to be competitive nationally on many control projects as well as electrical installation projects.
The Fitch Company is known for its continuity of personnel. We have a very low turnover. This low turnover allows plants to contact us regarding systems installed up to 20 years ago to obtain pertinent information. Although The Fitch Company seems small at 23 employees, it must be understood that we are a key player considering we focus all of our expertise on electrical, instrument and process control systems.
With the complexity of today’s control system, a top priority for The Fitch Company is customer support when needed. Many of our engineers spent years with hands on process experience in the pulp and paper industry, thus providing a solid foundation for other process control applications.
