AUBURN — Fourteen singers and actors make up the cast of Community Little Theatre’s next production,Willy Russell’s hit musical “Blood Brothers.”

The show, directed by Celeste Philippon, will open at Great Falls Arts Center on Friday, April 8, and run for two weekends.

One of the longest-running works of musical theater, this contemporary prince-and-pauper tale, set in Britain, revolves around twins born into an impoverished family. The boys are Mickey and Eddie, played by Chris L’Hommedieu and Andreas Wyder, respectively.

Deserted by her husband and unable to cope with her oversized brood of children, their mother, Mrs. Johnstone, played by Stefanie Lynn, gives one of the boys to the wife of her wealthy employer, Mrs. Lyons, played by Cheryl Reynolds.

Years later, the brothers meet and become inseparable friends, but their relationship is doomed.

At the heart of the story is whether a child’s inherent nature or how he is nurtured determines his fate.
