FARMINGTON  —  A new location and free admission highlight Saturday’s 17th annual Home and Leisure Show sponsored by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.

The show takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21 at Farmington Fairgrounds, Shannon Smith, secretary of the chamber’s board of directors, said. In recent years, the show was held at the Western Maine Expo on the Weld Road in Wilton.

Approximately 75 entrants will set up in and outside the Starbird Building on the fairgrounds.  Fairgrounds museums will be open and Barnacle Bill’s food trailer will be there.

A Relay For Life yard sale will share the fairgrounds space with the show, Smith said.

The Farmington Emblem Club will honor veterans and service people with a display of photos in observance of Armed Forces Day, the third Saturday in May.

A live remote from the show is planned by local radio station, WKTJ. Some antique tractor club members will display their machines in anticipation of the club’s antique tractor show held in June at the fairgrounds.

A variety of businesses, including car dealers, banks, photographers, media, a brewing company, medical care, framing and energy conservation have planned displays, she said.

Some civic groups, local nursing homes, crafters and the Healthy Community Coalition will be there, she said.

Spaces are still available and anyone interested in setting up a display may call Smith at 778-4726.

Admission to the show, for the first time, is free and entrance to the show is through the Maple Avenue fairgrounds gate. There is plenty of parking, she said.
